TOURNAMENTS/EVENTS
Rules and Information
TOURNAMENT/EVENT RULES INFORMATION:
-
There are no winter rules in effect unless specified by the tournament committee prior to the start of the event.. The ball must be played as it lies. The only exception will be for course posted “ground under repair” areas.
-
The tournament/event is stroke play. You must count all strokes taken. All penalty strokes must be counted if incurred. If you have any questions regarding rules or penalty strokes, these can be raised with the club handicapper (Jack Vossler) prior to posting your score. Your handicap will be applied to the final score.
-
NCGA indexes posted prior to the tournament/event will be used to calculate your course handicap for this tournament/event.
-
Closest to pin competitions: The shot used must be the first stroke on the competition hole. Only balls landing and remaining on the green are considered measurable. Use the provided measuring tape to measure the distance from your ball to the hole and record this on the clipboard provided. If another player’s ball is closer, there is no need to record your shot.
-
Longest drive competitions: The shot used must be the first stroke on the competition hole. Only balls coming to rest on the short cut grass of the fairway are considered. Use the provided sign to record your name, then place the sign where the ball came to rest. If subsequent players surpass the existing marked spot, the new player name is recorded and the sign moved to the new longest drive position.
-
Tournament/event scores will be posted by the club handicapper. Please do not post your score with the NCGA as this will be done as part of the club event/tournament oversight.
SCORING
The NCGA index will be used for all players who currently have their index established. Course handicaps will be used for the specific course being played.
